CLAYTON I change my fuel filter every 10k and change my engine oil every 5k.



Also it's much easier to keep track of when to service my truck this way.
 
Another option

I've been using engine hours instead of mileage, but I'm still searching for the "right"interval.



First one I replaced at 297 hours, and it looked pretty dirty.

Second replacement occurred 187 hours later, and it wasn't dirty enough.

Third replacement was 266 hours later and again wasn't dirty enough.



I'm going to try a 300 hour replacement interval next, which I think will be just about right.



Just a suggestion... :)
 
The best solution to knowing when to change the filter is to use a fuel pressure guage (post filter) while working the truck under load.



I have the guage from my 99 and I will install it before I take our rv to Utah early next month.

The other problem with the filters is the quality of the fuel. If bad fuel you'll clog it in a tank full.
 
I have changed my filter twice in 18K, I see no problem with the recommended 15k interval. I do keep a spare filter and wrench under the seat just in case. You can always get contaminated fuel no matter how long the filter has been in and you can need a new one in a hurry. Consider getting your (Cummins) filters from Geno's or Cummins. The Mopar filters are a bit pricy.
