OK - I don't abuse my truck but it does have the tailgate used at least 4-6 times per day..... (running my dogs and etc). It probably has been dropped maybe 2-3 times - by inexperienced openers. Yesterday I noticed that another one had failed - they break in the middle - and they are rusty. So today I'm replacing both - (keeping the apare). Does anybody make one that is GOOD!!!!! Are these a POS or what??????????

A buddy of mine who is a non-TDR member said when he had to replace his for the first time he sealed the ends with silicone or something? Works great, still on the same set. ;)

Someone also said to cut the cover at the bottom of the bend to let water drain out if it gets inside. SNOKING

I voted yes but they have not broke yet but they are very rusty in the middle and the rubber cover is almost all pealed off. I second the liquid electrical tape. That stuff works great!
