I've had both, both 4x4's, the only thing I can see being different is the one ton had more leaves, and the sticker under the hood said 5K# front axle vs 4500# for the 3/4, even though they were both 3. 54 dana 60's. Are there any other differences? The GVW is listed at 8700 for the one ton and 8510 for the 3/4.

I've looked in the manuals also, I'm just curious as to why the D60 is rated at 4500 in the 3/4 and 5000 in the 1 ton. Also, I have a 92 W250 w/ optional heavy duty front and rear springs, they look exactly the same as the springs on my old W350. Must be an options/marketing loophole.

Daniel my salesmen litature doesn't list spring counts or anything like that. It does have the build codes.

Niki did you get the numbers crossed on the trucks? My W350 shows as a 4500 lb front axle. The rating difference between the 3/4 and 1 ton axle rating would be the weight of the dually rims and heavier hubs.

I've owned both also, there is a difference in brake size between the two. The rear brakes on the W350 are wider. Not sure what the difference is between the fronts, maybe bigger rotors??

On the sticker under the hood on my W350 it specified a 2. 5" rear shoe, same as my 250's. I never had the front wheels off my W350 when I had it, but the brakes looked the same looking from the back. This is why the "350" designation in SRW form is a mystery to me, because the only difference I could find was leaf springs and my 92 W250 has optional HD spring packs front and rear that are the same as that one ton was. The frames were both 8" tall also.

I looked on the accuride website that makes dually and single wheels and their single wheels have a load rating of 3200 while the dually rims maxxed out at 2600 , which is fine for the dual rears but the singles in front mean less weight cap total. I know the front axle doesn't bear the usable load, but if we're talking about 500lbs difference on front axle rating, ahh I don't know just wanted to throw that out there
