Just ordered a 3 gauge dash pod for the 3rd Gen. The add says the dash is easy to remove. I hope they are talking about the top portion where the pod sits. I've had the dash face off too many times already.

Can someone tell me how the top part comes off? Pics would be great if you have them. Thanks

Where did you get the pod from? I've been looking for one so that I do not have to create my own custom dash pod. If I do have to though, it will house 6 gauges and several switches.

David, How are you? The only dash pod I've seen from Geno's is the Autometer and it's for '98 to '02. I'm sure there might be a place where it would work on an '03 or '04, but it's not what I'm looking for. I have been hoping someone else would have better luck than me at locating a manufacturer that got something more like I want. I am not at all interested in the pilar pods either.

Thanks for any leads.

the genos catalog has them in there part number gm-dg-03dash-tmp-03-04, it says call for price and no picture. .

Geno's latest catalog list them as made by Gauge Works, but won't have them available for about 3 weeks. Price is around $49. There's a pic in the catalog.

Dash Removal

The dash portion that is removable is the strip up against the windshield. It pops out but the clips are pretty stiff. I worked it carefully from one end to the other, popping the front edge loose and then the rear. Then it came out. I used a flat screwdriver with cloth under it to keep from scratching or marring the plastic dash.

I am going to do a dash mount but think I'm going to rig up my own thing since I don't like anything that's available.

I did this a while back. I modified the earlier dash pod, but the info you are looking for is there. Scroll 1/2 way down through the pics.
