I am looking at a set of 315/70/17 on factory 2004 chrome rims. Does anyone know if they will fit on my 2001 or 1994 without any problems? I have been told that these rims will fit fine with factory tires (265/70/17) but I am curious if anyone has these 315/70/17 on a second gen truck. Any input/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I run the 315/75r17's on eagle alloys on my 01. 5.

You will need a leveling kit. I have the skyjacker control arms and leveling springs up front. They barely rub on full lock.

You can check my pics for the sizing.

ran that setup (bfg a/t's) on my '01 stock for 50k 'till i switched to duals ...

like bob4x4 said a little rubbing ...

mine only did it when in a bind offroad and then only slightly ...

no leveling kit needed

Without a leveling kit the tires are going to look like they were shoe horned into the front wheel wells. I didn't even like the look of 275R16's on my truck without a leveling kit. The other problem with factory wheels is that they aren't offset like aftermarket wheels. Lack of offset restricts you ability to put bigger tires on the truck without having clearance issues.

You can get after market billet wheel spacers that will allow you get the spacing you need if you like the look of factory wheels. If your trying to put big aggressive tires on your rig you'll probably like the look off offset wheels an anyway. With 315's you probably better budget $300 for fender flares as well or your going to end up scratching your truck. I have to have fender flares on my offset 265R16's to prevent scratches but they add to the aggressive look of the wheel tire combo.

Hey! got'em on my 95 2500 and it was like driving my truck off the lot the 1st time and I've had them on now for 8mos and,WOW! no rub no nothing but better handling and (great tire wear) Nill . That is also w/300k!! I have steadily replaced parts over the years uppers, lowers, Tie rods and the such. No cupping either.
