Hello fellow Rammers! I just wanted to share a BOMB I did on my truck a few days ago.

I changed out the stock 9006 bulbs in my factory installed fog lights for a set of 9005's. What is the difference? The 9006's are low beam bulbs, while the 9005's are high beam bulbs. Sylvania's spec sheets show that a 9005 puts out 1,700 lumens of light vs. a 9006's 1,000 lumens. Changing two bulbs would give me an additional 1,400 lumens for better vision! That is like adding another high beam to the truck (one 9007 high beam = 1,350 lumens).

To make a long story short - a HUGE difference! You can find a detailed description of the BOMB in the technical section of our site: thebritebox.com.

Just remember, USE THE INFORMATION AT YOUR OWN RISK!

We are also offering the conversion harnesses (eliminates all wire cutting and splicing to do this) for sale that I made up for my truck for a reasonable cost.

Repectfully submitted,

This BOMB and Brite Box fog light control

Just wanted to let the readership know that this mod is safe to use with the fog light control (FLC) Brite Box kit.

Respectfully submitted,

Yes, the mod was done in my personal truck with FLC Brite Box. Brite Box could easily handle a lot more wattage than this bomb.

Great article ! I'll be doing mine soon... ... as a suggestion, why not include the new o-rings with the conversion harnesses you have for sale..... heck, even offer bulbs, too and make it "one stop shopping" ! :D

I have my 6" Hella's connected to my hi-beams, will this set up work with the Brite Box. I am very interested in the whole set-up.

Hey Joel... since these are high beams I was wondering if your bright box will turn "off" the fogs when clicking down off of high beams? On coming traffic might not appreciate the high beams, I know I wouldn't.

Where up front did you mount them?

I mounted them right where the grill meets the curve in the bumper. They were too tight, could not adjust left to right angle. I had brackets made to move them out 1. 5". They add alot of output to the hi-beams

Sounds good Joel. I will go along with what gsbrockman suggests. When you get it together I will get me one.

I second the question Matt400 asked...

Also can you run the fogs they way they are intended to be run with the bright box on? In other words, just the fog lights without turning on the low or high beam driving lights for use in fog and snow?

You can still run just the fogs with no problem. :D

Hey Rammers,

Thanks for the replies.

It took a while for us to source the proper silicone o-rings to include with the harnesses as per Greg Brockman’s post. Effective immediately, the harnesses described in the mod now come with 2 silicone o-rings. It was our intention to include these all along, but with the holiday season time was scarce. Including a set of 9005 bulbs in a kit with the harnesses and o-rings will probably not happen on the advice of our attorney. Offering them all together could be considered an endorsement of suitability. In any case, it would be difficult for us to compete with Wal-Mart’s prices on the bulbs.

In response to scottmcd’s post on driving lights, we do have a special Brite Box that has an extra driving light output. I have one of these in my truck as I am hoping Santa gives me a set of driving lamps!

In response to ceaman’s post, we are offering a special on the Brite Box (fog light) kit – buy the Brite Box and we will throw in a set of the fog light harnesses and o-rings.

Joel,

I can't find purchase information on your site. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Nate :)

Just ordered a set of the fog light harnesses... If they are as good as the brite box with the fog control I'm in for a real treat. It's funny how when I got the brite box how much more the road lites up. . but just like horse power I need more :D:D:D
