:) Hey fellas, does anyone make a 4cycle weed eater thats light and has a string thats easy to fill. My wife says my stihl is way too heavy for her to work with, so i need to go shopping now. Thanks Tim

Redmax

Redmax makes a 4cycle line trimmer. I was working at a equipment dealer when they came out. Redmax makes a very good product but the 4 cycle did not perform as well as the 2 cycle and the weight was the same as the 2 cycle redmax. Also you dont mix the gas and you do have to change the oil in the crank case

I like my small Honda. It's not that heavy; I've used it often without the harness, although I do have the full harness as well as an over-the-shoulder strap. Highly recommended. Low noise and vibration, and easy starting. Just add gas!

weed eater

:) Thanks fellas, thats what I needed. I do think that they will be too heavy for her, so will have to get a two stroke and just keep her fuel handy. Thanks again. Tim

A harness really spreads the weight equally acrossed your sholders rather than on one with the strap. The harness will take some adjusting until it feels just right for most terrain. Gloves help cut the vibration to your hands and protect from flying debris. I recently replaced the head that holds the three plastic blades on my Stihl due to being worn badly. The new one has less vibration. Guess even though it rotates, it wore unevenly.

I tried the Ryobi four stroke that came out five years ago. One of the worst POS tools I had tried. Took eight pulls to start, poorly balanced and no guts for anything but light duty. Hope they improved by now.
