My question is simple. Are their ways to make our trucks stop better? Maybe better brake pads, I don't know.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

My 2001 3500 stops on a dime with 11. 5 Lance camper pulling my tow car. Are you sure your break system is working properly?

I've got to push down harder on the brakes than I'm used to and it doesn't seem stop where I want to. As I get closer to that stop sign I've got to increase the pressure on the peddle. I should drive another truck like mine and compare.

My brakes work good also. There a lot better then my 98 4x2 was. Nothing worse then brakes not working right.
Have a good one. Mac B

Have you manually adjusted your rears lately?
This always helps mine. I do it at each oil change it only takes about 2 min.
Good luck, Scott

Are those pads called On a Dime by Hawkhead Automotive out of Florida. If it is its about the best pad to use on the Rams. I'm a distributer for them here in Washington.

My brakes work very well too. The ABS kicks in a lot on these bumpy Dallas city roads, but other than that they stop well. Maybe you are not used to such a heavy truck or your brakes aren't working correctly.

Cody, you may be right my other truck / Bronco is a half ton and that stops on a dime. I think I read somewere on the TDR that there are after market pads that are better than our stock pads. Do you know of any?

Most of the time my brakes work great, only had the ABS do it's thing once. Worst time was slamming on brakes pulling a trailer for a ^*&$#@$%^% stop light. She stopped halfway over the white line that time.
