Heres the question. Is the specs on alignment as it should be in the repair shops for the 4th gen trucks? My sons 14, 2500 is wearing the outside ribs on both front tires. He took it in and the tech said it was right on spec. So they rotated the tires and sent him on his way.
Reason I am asking this, is during the 2nd gen's alignment problems there was also a question on the true spec and the recommended numbers was mentioned here. So is he good to go with what the shop told him?
Truck has around 4K on it and he does pull a car trailer loaded with a 69 Camaro about 4 times a year and he does balance it for travel.

Does he do a lot of in town driving? if so I d bet its from turning corners all the time. I'd put money on it. Just keep the tires rotated and you'll get good mileage out of them.

Ask for a copy of the alignment machine print out. In order to get paid by Chrysler for the alignment they have to have before and after specs saved. Post it and you we can see if it is "right on", or "within specs."

I had the same problem with my 11 Dually. I had the Pahrump Dealer check alignment. They did not touch it. It just got worse. I took it to a guy I have trusted for many years. My guy said they had it at 1/4" toe in and that is the upper end of spec. My guy set mine at 1/16" toe in. No problems after that.

Thats what I was looking for Cummins12V98. He took it to Les Swabs cause he does a a lot business with them and they said he was with in specs. I told him it is a warranty issue and he said he checked with the dealer and they told him it would cast a $112.00 to have them check it and fix it. I'll pass this along to him. He is also up against the 12 month warranty time.

He is a OTR trucker so the 14 truck sits a lot and is driven on the highway and not a locale commuter with a lot of turning as in town type driving.

Thanks to everyone who replied.

Problem i had on my 13 dually, it was wearing the inside and outside of both front tires, alignment checked ram said gtg, rotate every 2500 miles...i almost cried at that comment , i didnt know whether to laugh or die of high blood pressure because of the stupidity of it....figured i would attempt my own solutions, replaced the factory chinese shocks and steering stabilizer with bilsteins and problem went away

Fairly certain the shocks you replaced on a 13 dually were US Made. At least mine are/were on my 15 dually. I replaced the fronts with Bilsteins the rears are not made yet.
