Mileage improvement from transmission failure

I have a freind that goes down to Calexico and fills up in the $2. 00 + range. You can't fill up containers, just your tank on your truck. If you have a transfer tank hooked up to your main tank you can fill it up. So he fills both up and transfers to storage tanks at home.

I saw 5. 49 just outside of Lake Havesu and 4. 73 in Parker.

5. 09 here locally

I saw it for $5. 09. 9 today at Lukoil on rt 70 in lakewood NJ. #@$%!

That place is usually on the high side. I still see it for $4. 70~ish#@$%!

Yesterday on Rt1 in falls twp/Langehorne Pa area everybody was $4. 99. 9 for diesel.

$1. 369/liter... at the last close with the canadian dollar being $1. 0134 usd, fuel up here is right at $5. 25/gallon. i have seen 1. 439 which is just about $5. 52/gallon... sucks to be in canada right now. .

if i didn't have strong morals, i'd be stealing fuel right now

at work we spill probably 1,000 liters of diesel fuel a day and pump over 500,000 liters of diesel in 24 hours on a day into the locomotives. . even at the cheaper rate they buy fuel for, that is a lot of money. wish i could snag some of the spillage. it isn't even colored the fuel we have [greenish/blue in color]

really starting to think about a 4bta swap for my dodge. . p-pump'd and i could feed it anything that could burn [veg, hydraulic oil, waste oil... :(]

I filled up here in Mexico this morning. price was 6. 05 pesos per liter. With an exchange rate of 10. 3 to 1 that works out to $2. 22 / gal. I always carry 2 - 15 gal plastic jugs with me when I cross back into the USA. No problems yet.

I'm not going to start a political debate on this thread about the hows and whys of the cost of fuel, but I must say I am blown away by the prices.

When I got my license 23 years ago off-road racing gas was cheaper then diesel is now.

Does anybody in this thread also use heating oil in their home? I would have to imagine that people are panicking (like myself) that these prices will probably remain high for the rest of the year and that $4-$5 a gallon heating oil is really going to not help the situation next winter.

I'm lucky that I have a fireplace since I'll have to put a stove in it this year and use firewood to help offset the oil prices. The prospect of 800 gallons of oil is going to be rather expensive this winter.

At these prices, I am thinking ( the only reason I haven't acted is because of fuel costs, I can't seem to save up the money) about buying my own unit and making my own fuel. Of course, now that this is out, someone from the government is probably reading and thinking of taxing the s**t out of me when I buy one of these units.

Fuel prices killing travel?

It was strange to head to cape cod rt. 495 on fri eve at 4pm and see so little traffic and no boats in tow and only 2 campers on a long weekend? Then sun morn to walk into the dinner with no wait for a table.

It was like 20 years ago kind of nice.

Diesel Price increase

4. 74 a gallon in Austin Tx

And no cheaper Bio B 20 in site i ve been reading i reports showing 5. 30 a gallon in Portland .

Does it not seem strange to anyone that fuel is half price in Mexico? If supply and demand were the whole deal then it should be about the same in Mexico?

I live in a ski/fishing town and when the tourists rolled into town Fri the price of Diesel jumped up to $5. 29!!!! I hope tomorrow it goes back down. This is ridiculous. At least I am getting good exercise pedaling my bike around town!

Is your town small? Some of us in BIG citys can't get around very easy. (you would be run over if not drowned by all our rain)

It's $4. 95 at the Sunoco down the street from me. A few towns over it's $5. 19 (another Sunoco station). This is northeast PA.

I saw it as high as $5. 29 in Pittsburgh today.

Last week in Taiwan, it was 28. 9NT$/Liter
28. 9NT/L * 3. 785 L/Gal / 31 NT$/$US ~= $3. 53/Gal
People over there are going nuts over the high prices, and are deathly scared that the prices are going to go up. In Mainland China, the prices for fuel are around $2. 50/Gal.

The government sets the prices, but there is an article in the paper everyday stating how the prices are soon to go up because the national fuel companies are loosing billions of dollars every quarter due to retailing fuel at less than market price.

Try 1. 59. 9 a liter in a few places in Northern B. C. Canada = $6. 04 a gallon and we are heading to Homer Alaska. The gasprices.com shown it under $5. 00 in most places in Alaska. Smoking deal???
