OK here is the report of the install!!! The 4" system is in and sounds great! I went from a stock 3" straight piped system to this 4" with a straight thru 4" in 4" out 30" muffler.

The 30" muffler with the hanger kit that comes with the system works wonderful.

With the way the down pipe is bent. . it gives you plenty of room between the frame and the bell housing and also it gives you more clearance between the down pipe and the firewall.

As far as the dreaded drone at 2000 rpms... there is NONE! Would I buy another system from Big Exhaust... just as quick as I could pick up the phone... .

I cant say what the install is on the 5" but the 4" was a cake walk. I did grind off the tailpipe hanger and mounted it to the new system then I installed my chrome turndown. .

When I get to work tomorrow I will post the pictures in the "Reader Rigs' so that all can take a look at it.

I did order an adapter so that I could mount the monster 5" turndown on the 4" system. It should be here sometime later this week or the first part of next week. Once it goes on I will do the picture thing again.

I ran about 8 miles this morning with the rpms right on 2000 and the only thing that I could hear was a very low tone coming from the tailpipe but none of the drone that I was getting with the 3" straight.

Running 1800 rpms. . its hard to hear the exhaust at all...



It may have been just that I wanted to see a drop in the EGT's but it did drop. . maybe 25-50*...

As far as the 5" not fitting the 2nd gen. trucks because of the spare tire... . I looked at the space on my truck and if the pipe benders are worth their salt and watch what they are doing. . the 5" will fit.

RHARVEY, ordered my 4" from big exhaust on the 14th, havent got it yet. Emailed to try to change to the straight though muffler hope they get it in time. Did you get the 5" tip from them? Went back to the site and didnt see the turn down like you got

ok, so we THINK a 5 incher will fit on a 2nd, so I feel like I can assume since I have a '95, I'll be good.



Now the question I have--that no one has posed yet--is does this system mount directly to the turbo (aka--it replaces the elbow) or does it mount to the elbow.



I have a PacBrake which would obviously be an issue.



If I can get these problems worked out, I'd be in for the GB

No the 5" is still not ready. Every time I call the guy he tells me another 2 weeks. I would say at the point this GP is on hold indefinately or at least until I can get a solid commitment out of the guy. Still crossing my fingers this goes through.

I saw and heard one of Rips 5" exhaust. Man that thing sounds mean..... and that was a totally stock motor, not one mod. I would highly recommend Rips exhaust for those who want it now. Great price too.

I checked in to Rips 5" and I think its the way I'll go unless this group purchase of $305 gets of the ground in the near future. Is it a dead horse? Or our you still working on it sounds like a great deal on 14gauge..... Oo. Let us know kbond. Thanks a bunch Jake

I think it will still happen but when is unknown. I would not expect anything for at least 2 months.
