mine acctully never gained oil i was just always there. till i put mobil delvac in and its fine. I wounder if rotella over filled the containers i had?

WOW! dealers removing oil pans dip stick tubes, some don't make that much effort honoring warranty claims. 12 USA qts first time fill, succeeding oil change 10 USA qts. about two USA qts that never drain unless complete engine dissemble and dealer does not understand this!

Just wanted to mention that mine seems to be making oil now too. I know for a fact when I filled it up (oil change about 3000miles ago) that I put it to the top of the safe zone, but no higher. Now its above the plastic. My oil analysis is not showing fuel in the oil, so I am not too worried ... yet. But, I'll be keeping an eye on it. I was thinking perhaps oil is wicking up the dipstick tube and giving a false reading.

I now have 8400 trouble free, code free miles on my truck. I have monitored the oil level since day one, and it rose 2 qts. in 4016 miles, when the EVIC indicated a change was needed. I put in 12 qts. and it was right on the full mark. I watched my oil level progessively rise 2 qts. over the next 3800 miles. I drained the excess and had it analyzed, revealing a 6. 0% fuel content! What really puzzles me is that the first oil analysis was normal for fuel content, and that the latest reflash has done nothing to mitigate this.

For everyone with this making oil problem, have any of you yet actually drained and measured your oil to see how much was in there? If I weren't on the road, I'd drain the oil into gallon jugs and find out exactly whether the 2 qts high reading is because the dipstick is not reading right or because there is 2 qts more of fluid in the oil pan that shouldn't be there.

Yes, I have done that, what part of the previous post leads you to believe this is not happening?

I have 8900 miles on mine as well. It has not indicated an overfilled condition as yet. I change oil every 35oo miles.

No codes of any kind. The last thing done was the G-30 update. I have been pleased with it. Ted

See post #48 :D

When I sent my oil off to Blackstone, mine showed < . 2% fuel dilution. After getting that info, I was somewhat relieved; still unsure how the oil level "creeps up" on the dipstick. It must be like some bad underwear.

I think it could be a combination of soot and fuel, at 6. 0% fuel content in the crankcase oil, that's about 24 liquid ounces. What about the other 1. 25 quarts? Soot? Maybe, but that's alot of soot!

Thanks Greg, that puts my mind at ease. I must have overlooked that info. I have almost no time at the moment to go online, will be back to normal for Christmas. Have a good one. :)

As a computer-illiterate person, could someone offer some help in displaying my oil analysis that's on the Blackstone website ?
