Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 700 Auto transmission

Have new (to me) 2002 DTC with 15,000 mi and Auto Trans. Stock, so far-but that will change very soon. transmission was not shifting properly, took to dealer, fine now. Dealer told me I had Heavy Duty, model 700 transmission. Is there such a thing? What is it? Will it handle Edge & new Injectors without needing Mods?

I think you heard only part of the comment-- it is a 47re not a 700.

Personally, I think they need help even stock. Very poor fluid coupling- notice how it throws the truck forward when the converter clutch engages. That is hard on the con-clutch and fluid.

??? model 700 series. Similar to a 727 designation???

Rowland, Start saving for your transmissions replacement, it is when not if... ... . sooner if you start moding if now..... I call it my transmissions college fund (it will probably cost me more than my daughters first year at college!?!)... ..... R, J. B.
