I just picked up a D60 out of a '91 cummins for my '75 power wagon. The axle came w/o calipers, so I went and picked up some new ones.

My question is how do they attatch? I see there is one hole on the bracket on the axle, and the caliper came w/ some clamps and clips and stuff. If someone could explain how it goes together, or has a pic of how it all goes, I would appreciate it a bunch.

Anyone??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I'm actually trying to put them on now that the axle is fully rebuilt, and I don't know where the long thing metal piece goes, or the little silver clip that came w/ the calipers. I see how it mounts w/ the piece that wedges between the caliper bracket and caliper, but not sure what to do w/ the other parts.

please help!!!!!!!!!

I don't have any way to show you a picture, but I can try to explain it. You should have a spring clip (long thin piece with tab on end), and another small piece (block with two notches), and a screw with an allen head hole in it. You put the top of the caliper in the adapter plate. On the bottom, set the caliper in the bottom of the adapter plate and you have to drive the block in the grove on bottom. The spring clip goes on top of the block. I don't remember if you have to put them together when you drive them in or not. Line up the notches and put the screw in. I don't know if this helps, or if I forgot something, but it should get you started.

Thanks that helped alot.

I still have a small silver clip that it came w/ but I don't think it is necessary as everything appears to be held in place just fine.

Thanks for those pics, they confirm that I did end up getting them right, can't wait to get the trail rig back on the trails, THANKS!!!!!!

Looks like you suffer from the same disease I do. Takeatruckinthetimber-itis :-laf . No worries though, it can be treated with many trips to the Off road park, and playing in the trees and mud!! I used to go wheeling a lot at night, and my saying used to be "theres nothing like dual exhaust in the timber after dark". Now I try to keep my excursions to daylight hours, its much easier to see the holes. After you get the dana 60 in, when are you gonna do a big block install? I got some specs for you to build a really nice running torque motor!

Where do you go wheeling at? I got a couple places that I go to here is Iowa, and we go to dresser every year, cept this year.

Yeah it's a disease, and it's getting to be an expensive one at that :)

No plans for a big block. I plan to rebuild the 360 in it later down the road and just run that.

I go to McCaslin Mountain. www.mccaslinmountain.com they have some pretty good trails and I know a group of guys that go there about once a month. I'd like to go to the badlands park in indiana later this year if I can find the time.

Oh, and the 60 is almost in. Completely rebuilt w/ a detroit locker, just waiting for u-bolts and a steering arm and draglink.
