Can I use CI 4+ oil in Mitsubishi?

1987 C10: No Start!

My 93 W250 has the Magnum 360 in it. It will fire right up if it has sat for several hours (overnight). However, if I have drove then say come back an hour and try and start it, it takes 3-5 seconds of cranking before it fires off and stays running. Sometimes it fires then dies before the 3-5 secs on the second try. Any ideas?

Check it for stored codes. Cycle the ign switch three times. Leave it on the third time. The check engine light will start flashing. Count the flashes. There will be a pause of a couple of seconds between numbers. If I remember right 12 is the start code, 55 is end of test.

If no codes I would check the crank position sensor and camshaft position sensors. If the PCM doesn't see eather one it will not trigger the ign system to fire.

two things could cause your problem. first a fuel pump going bad takes longer to build the pressure to start the truck. get a gauge and check fuel pressure. second if you push the gas pedal down when cranking it will store that as minimum throttle and cause hard starting and rough idle. disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and then start it without touching the pedal, may take a couple of tries the first time. hope this helps.
