Crap. Need ANOTHER track bar. lat one April 04 at 68k. now 99. 5k. These do not last real long, do they? This is the last free one. When it fails I will hope someting better is out there.

Replaced under factory Warranty??

Are they replacing your track bars under the 7 yr. 100,000 mile power train warranty, or did you buy a specical extended bumper to bumper warrany? My dealer says that the track bar is only covered under the 3/36,000 bumper to bumper.

let me know... . i may see him again. my first one failed @ 36000... now have 48,000 and wander is coming back, i think. they also replaced upper ball joints @ the same time.

Thanks, David

If steering wheel turns 4&1/4 lock to lock, replace with box that turns 3 turns lock to lock. Call "Chip" @ Power Steering Services Springfield Missouri 417-864-6676. You will not be disappointed, Jim 321 373 5756

I AM WANDER FREEEEEE!!!! Today now 6 years later and 77,778 miles later ... .

New quad 4X4 Ball joints, Rod ends , drag link , steering stabilizer along with my existing DSS , DT Track bar.

MOOG now has a series of heavy duty fleet parts called "Problem Solver" Series. I can tell you theese rod ends are bigger , and have a much more stout grease reserve and dust cover. I will let yall know how long theese will stay tight.

94-01 Steering wander

95 CCLB 5 speed, still wanders despite having been aligned several times by different shops. I have a 92 W250 with 245,000 miles that drives better! Lektrikman.

My 98 Ram with 99,000 was terrible and now drives like a car. Turn your steering wheel lock to lock and count the turns. 3 turns and you have the correct ratio box. 4 & 1/4 turns and you have the WRONG box intended for larger trucks. They look the same but are different on the inside. Chip at power steering services in Springfield Missouri does a super job of rebuilding if you have the wrong box. That is where I was told to get mine. He will exchange with you (faster) or rebuild yours. REGARDS Jim 321 373 5756 anytime.

That's interesting. I just replaced by stock box with a dealer supplied Delphi unit that is 4+ turns lock to lock. Aside from difference in the number of turns lock to lock, are there any other benefits to swapping in a 3-turn unit?

Based on my own experience with my Ram 12v when I replaced my 4+ turn box with a 3 turn box it solved the wandering problem. I did this on the advice of "Chip" at Power Steering services. My wandering problem was bad and now my truck steers as well as a car. I can't imagine any advantage to having a 4+ turn box, they do not belong in a Ram, they are for larger heavier trucks. They look the same on the outside and the wrong box was installed in my truck at the factory. After 7 years of misery I now have the truck I should have had in the first place. It has been mentioned before but should be mentioned again. The alignment will contribute to the wandering problem. I had almost no wander before my last alignment(after installing a DSS, 3rd Gen trackbar, and new tie rod ends but before the alignment) but following the truck's alignment the steering is noticably worse.
