2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 94-01 Steering Wandering Count!!

I have a '96 2500 with a fairly bad wandering problem. The TRACK BAR ball joint end was lose and I can see some movement at the shaft coming out of the gear box but haven't decided how to fix that yet. I'm not anxious replace with a new one from the dealer. Any Ideas?

Maybe if we show just how many, then DC will take notice. Remember how long it took Ford / Firestone to put figures together. My father in-law is starting Lemon Law paperwork on his 99 2500 4x4.

Now on 2nd steering box and not much improvement. Dealers mechanic not happy that I have information on this problem from the TDR website!

01 problems. Fix included all the adjustments and then replacement of the box.

99 4X4 2500 Been to the dealer six times. Changed track bar. ball joints, tire pressure. adjusted box my self a little better but still not right. Is this AF the answer?

97 4x4 no problem. Hands off steers straight as an arrow.

Had 2000 2500 4x4 that wandered. Dodge bought it back! Dodge said that they had fixed it. Purchased new 2001, and it also wanders. It has been in dealers shop, one month today!!

99 has some wander. buddies 01 hopped all over the place. he aligned i think the castor back a few degrees. something like that. fixed it. this after new gear box did nothing. im not sure of these specs. i could ask him exact details if anyone needs them.

1997 2500 4X4
REPLACED TRACK BAR, TIE RODS, BALL JOINTS, FRONT AXLE U JOINTS, TIRES, FRONT BRAKES. STEERING IS MUCH BETTER, BUT STILL HAS PLAY. I WILL TRY THE TSB. ABOUT THE STEERING BOX ADJUSTMENT WHEN I HAVE THE TIME. IHAVE A FEW FRIENDS ALSO WITH FRONT END PROBLEMS, THEY SAY THEY'LL NEVER BUY A DODGE AGAIN.

2000 2500 4WD. Steering STINKS!! I Drove the wife's car on vacation (3000 miles) and when I got back in the truck I couldn't believe how bad the steering was. I guess I was just sorta getting used to the all the wandering.

On my second box, replaced at 35K and now still wandering at 78K. don't have te numbers from the 2nd box. What to do???

As of today my truck is headed to the dealer for the 9th, thats right 9th time for this problem. They seemed to fix it a couple of months back but now the problem is back! I have had it! Every time I contact DC about replacement, I only get a call back from the Service Manager at the dealer.

'01 2500 4x4 GC LWB. I'm not sure I would call it wandering. I find that I have to manually return the steering wheel to center after a turn. My Ford F250 PSD handled like a sports car compared to this.

97 2500, Just had the intermediate shaft replaced @ 33K. DC did it under warranty, much improved.
