Can anyone provide or recommend a source for new engine mounts ?

So far, my searching has given me some results but overall they are all quite vague.

Would greatly appreciate any direction.

I'll try one more run on this one guys, As I am referring to after market mounts and/or polyurethane mounts.

Anyone?

I'll display my ignorance here. I thought Energy Suspension sold the motor mount inserts for our trucks Part # 5. 1114G. I have not bought a set yet, but do intend to do so when rebuilding my '96 later this year or next.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Mishkaya,

Part # 5. 1114G is for a track bar bushing according to the Energy Suspension web site.

They do not list a motor mount and I do not believe they are re-buildable.

But thanks for the reply,

I did a similar search for new mounts/donuts for a 1997 12v when I converted my old ford over. Nothing. Best I could do was buy a used set from a junkyard.

Sorry about that, it's what I was told a while back by energy suspension when they started advertising them in the Diesel Power magazines. They were supposedly due out later this past spring, but I see that never happened. :{

You might want to try giving Carli a call, as I know for sure they make mounts for the 3rd gens; they might be able to come up with something for the rest of us...

My appologies Mishkaya,

I called Energy Suspension and infact your original post with the part number 5. 1114G is correct - to a degree.

This part is, according to the tech rep at E. S. , and additional shim added to the exhisting mounts to reduce torque movement.

5. 1114-G, "G" refers to graphite black and 5. 1114-R, "R" refers to red.

Unfortunately, it does not resolve the issue of replacing the mounts themselves.

On the lighter side of things, I did email "Westar Industries" customer service, they supply motor mounts for most of the parts retailers, which then forwarded my email to 2 different sales people.

You can probably guess were this is going ... :-laf

One of the sales reps responded that they did in fact have them and even included part numbers and prices;

Rep #2 appologizes and says that they do not have them.

Again I am back to that "vague and confused feeling" and will need to hunt further :rolleyes:

Will update when I come up with some info.

i bought one for my 97 from the local dodge dealer im not sure what they normaly cost but i think i paid like 80 bucks

I too contacted the dealer and they are more than willing too bring them in for me at a cost of $139. 00 and $160. 00 each.

My experiance with the local dealers has confirmed that the average mark-up on parts is a minimum of 100% (compared to dealers cost).

Just hate going to them for anything at all, especially when you know that better quality aftermarket parts are available at half the cost.

Oops, starting to rant, better stop here and get back to looking for mounts...
