I just saw a 98 12V 4x4 Dually for sale. It looked to be in real good shape but not pristine. He was asking what seemed to be an awfully high price to me though - $14K. Is that really a fair price?

BHanna

BEnglish has a point. 14K does sound steep. It really would depend on mileage & if the

12V is stock. Were there any mods done, type of trans, etc, etc. It would be a judgement call. I have a '97 2500 4X4 & bought it with 115,000 for $7500 in excellent shape.

Is it a club cab, quad cab or reg cab. 98's had the new dash. If it is a 5spd (215 hp pump) it is worth more than an auto trans truck. Low/high mileage?

City or highway driving?

You can always make him an offer. ( But I like to see 12 valve stay up there in price. After all it is the most reliable CTD there is. But it doesn't really matter to me I don't plan on selling mine. )

If it is an auto and he was pulling a trailer be wary unless he upgrade the trans if he added alot hp I would walk away.

It's a quad cab with an automatic and 130K miles. It has a gooseneck ball and looks like it had a 5th wheel hitch in it so I assume he's done some towing.

I guess I'll pass on it. I was really looking for an SRW 5spd anyway.
