Broke the cupholder last week. What a pain in the arse it is trying to drive and hold a coffee without it. I looked in salvage yards this weekend to no avail. Called the dealer today  $175 over the counter, $115 my cost #@$%!

Figured I'd do a last ditch effort and see if anyone has one out in TDRLand that they don't need, or could let go of. . . Interior is Agate, but I have paint left over from the tri-pod gage mount.

Thanks

So, what part broke?. Mine broke a few years back where the black swivel part attaches to the actual cup holder. The black part had 2 holes where the dimples from the cup holder door sit. The holes in the black part broke and I went to the hardware store and picked up the thinnest 1/4" washers and epoxied them to the spot where the holes use to be. Has worked flawlessly for years now and actually has some metal instead of the flimsy plastic.

I have one I pulled as a spare i dont need, but I think i may have messed it up pulling it I recall part of the pivot was not right... post what broke on yours and maybe this one will fix you up.

Mine broke also a few years ago, the tit broke off and it would drop a 44 oz pop on the floor.
I used fiberglass and built a new side. Ground out the tit and sanded and painted it black. Been a couple years and still works.

Bottom right hinge where cup holder base mounts to dash. And, the left tab on the spring loaded hinge from dash mount to cup holder base.

I like the epoxy and washer idea, but the bottom right hinge is totally snapped and missing . . .

Anyone else?

Joe, went and found the '98 one I have only thing is the one pivit is broke, I know they make real good plastic repair kits now. it needs some plastic and a new hole drilled and it's back in service, its the light grey color, if it helps you out we can trade for some beer.

That was how mine broke on the lower section. I just used fiberglass resin and some cloth, let it set up and shaped it and drilled the hole in the right spot, still holding.

budnate - exactly where mine broke and at the lower right hand hinge.

I'm going to give the salvage yards one more try before I decide to give good ol mother Dodge more $$$

dodge ram cup holder, eBay Motors items on eBay.com
All of these are cheaper then dealer. You should try the fiberglass repair kit, Use plenty of glass over the matt, it will kick (harden in 15-30 minutes and you can finish shape it , drill the hole, sand it and touch it up with paint and it WILL hold. Just make the new corner and lay the matt a few inches back from the break.

Hey Guys my cup holder has broken also. It looks to have already been fixed by the previous owner a couple of times. I think I'll order one online but mine is GREY. Can someone please tell me which I should choose for GREY. Agate, Cirrus or Suede.

If it's light grey then it's grey, if it's kind of dark then it's Agate.

I got one on ebag and it's still hanging in there . . .

I bought a cup smoothie from Geno's for my '01 this past spring after several years of using the OE cup holder, IMHO it's much more convenient.
