Son has 99 with about 104000 on it. He said last two fill ups gage has been reading off. Fills up and gage will show empty and when he gets on a incline it will start working. Done this two times. So I guess he will get a sender and we will replace it. Haven't decided if we will lower the tank or raise the bed up to get to it. I have heard of it being done both ways. Dealer says they lower tank. I think the sending unit costs around 40. 00 So which is easier?

When I replaced the unit on my 96 gasser, I dropped the tank.

I used my floor jack and a couple of short 2x4's. Kinda tough

getting to the connectors, but I did it by myself.

fuel level sender
