I have a 2003 CTD 2500 4x4 auto quad cab long box with 165k miles. Recently many wear items, like u joints and bearings, have needed to be replaced.
I replaced both my front hubs / wheel bearing assemblies (one was obviously bad). I ordered them from Dearborn Axle via eBay. They are Timken. The plugs for the wheel speed sensors were not exact, so I cut off the old plugs and moved them over to the new sensors. I used a good connector and then heat shrinked and protected with split loom the connections.
After about 2 miles of driving, my ABS and Brake light on the dash come on with a warning tone. My questions are:
-Why does this happen after 2 miles? If it was a bad sensor wouldn't it happen immediately when moving?
-What is the best way to test the sensors?
-Can I just order new sensors?
-Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
