Was driving at 60 mph with cruise on and suddenly cruise kicked off, speedo dropped to zero, abs and brake lights come on. Pulled over and lifted the hood and noticed the ps battery was steaming. Took off the caps and had to add 12 oz of water to top it off - one cell was almost dry so figured battery was probably toast. Anyway, 2 hours later managed to get home after getting conflicting advice along the way about whether I could disconnect the smoking battery. Next day a dodge dealer replaced the battery and said I needed a new abs module - $800 used or over $1000 new! Said the sensor over the rear diff tested fine. Used ABS module is on order.

Today I have no heat in the cab. Also AC and heated mirrors not working. Took a look at fuses and noticed that the ABS module and HVAC control fuses are #35 and #36 and neither is getting power. Makes me wonder if it might be a wiring problem - and not ABS module? I'm not electrically savy so am looking for any kind of advice. Do these 2 fuses share the same power source? If so, how can I troubleshoot? The fuse box looks pretty intiminating!
