2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission AC and water in cab.

I am getting water from AC condenser, I think, on the floor of cab. Have installed a drip tube, from drain hole in fire wall, to run under cab. Have also used shop vacuum to try and clean out drain and pan. Thought this would solve problem, but floor in cab on co-pilot side still gets get soaked when running the AC. Doesn't appear to be a leak in AC housing under dash. Only happens with AC running.



Any suggestions on solving this problem.

Help!

I'm still getting quite a bit of water in the floor board on the passanger side when running the AC. Lots of water coming out of the drain tube.



Need help, suggestions, or a cool one before I start tearing the dash apart. Doesn't appear to be coming from radiator cooling water. But, who knows???

Plugged condensate drain? Drain tube placed so that pressure at end of drain tube is higher than cab pressure with A/C on recirculate (i. e. , velocity pressure component, in engineering terminology)? Two possibilities... .

you might have checked this, but here goes, just in case... on the engine side of the firewall, pass side,there is a short molded hose coming from the evap housing (the condenser is in front of the radiator, so it couldn't possibly leak water into the cab),anyway, this drain hose clogs up w/debris and causes 99. 9% of water in cab problems from A/C, so clean the junk outta the hose and it should be ok,the hose is molded on the outer end so it stays closed until there is water in it,then it drips onto the ground,this happens to me about twice a year and drove me nuts until I figured it out

At least your AC works. Mine only blows air out through the defroster ducts. Does anyone know if I have to tear the dash apart to fix this?

When I put a 12 inch drain tube on "L" going out the firewall and used low pressure air to blow out the hose. My problem of wet carpet and floors stopped. That was over 3 years ago. Worked for me Oo. Oo.

Just went through this, mine was due to mesquite leaves that got in through the fresh air intake. I had to use a piece of bailing wire bent with about a 1/16" hook on the end to drag all the debris out the drain tube. After doing this about four times over a 2 week period, everyhting is working great. Just be careful not to push to hard going into the drain to avoid damage to the coil.
