accessory relay installation

I have a hot line to trailer and want to put ignition switched relay inline so it's off when the key is off. Is there a specific place to tie in other than just splicing into another wire?

For the ignition hot wire, I used the red wire going to the cigarette lighter. I don't need the lighter, so it works fine. It's easy to get to. You ought to have no problem soldering in a relay. Is your hot wire through the trailer wiring plug?

yes. it goes through the 7way plug. is the charge wire on the 5th wheel and powers up the hydrastar brake actuator on the boat trailer which would run the battery down if it's parked and I forget to unplug it, (don't ask how I know this).
