On Sunday I added a #11 cam plate and the AFC spring kit to a my '98 12v 5-speed. The only thing I didn't do per instructions was back the star wheel all the way off when I changed the spring. I've been rotating it toward the motor in 10-click increments and doing test drives and watching for smoke.
The only problem is that it now takes a few revolutions to start when the engine is cold. It used to fire right up on the first rev. And it starts fine when warm. I'm not sure whether this may be due to starving for fuel or flooding.
Any insight would be appreciated.
BTW: Love the kick in the pants when the boost comes on!
