I was wondering about adding a list or forum for members to post their "truck recipe" and share with other members, if they choose, what part combinations they have for their truck and engine, what the known HP level is, if it is known and what their main use is of their truck, ie: Towing, Drag, Street Use, High Elevation, ect.

I know that this info can be found in signatures and user profiles but finding them is sort of hit-or-miss and can be time consuming.

Please consider this suggestion

I like that. It would be nice to see what combination of parts and at what hp/torque levels (maybe et's too) people are running especially if it was organized by each generation of engine.

I think it would be a big aid to those just getting into upgrades.

It would save time and probably a lot of money to be able to pick the right recipe for a particular truck configuration, based on individual desires.

Makes you feel less like a guinea pig because you can see what has already worked for others and what the results were.

I like the idea. I think a thread was started about a year ago similar to this idea. Members listed the hp/tq #'s and a complete list ;)of their engine mods to achieve it. I will see if I can find it.

That would be cool it would be nice for people to know what to stay away from too. Especially if a guy goes from one generation to another and wants to know a proven and reliable combination for his truck he could just go there and not have to start a new thread.

My 2 sheckles? Absolutley! I have asked the question of ACTUAL EGT reductions while towing with different exhaust systems more than a couple times- still dont have an answer. Maybe a Recipe forum is just the thing.

truck recipe

I like the idea. I like everyone am stretched for time and at my stage in life I forget how old I am and what state i,m in. It,s true growing up is an optiion. I want to see what you fast and powerful guys have. Oo.

There's a few issues I see with this - I'd like to hear comments on them:

1. How do you know the hp/tq numbers given are accurate? On my truck for example I've dyno'd on 2 Mustang 1000 dyno's. The first time I dyno'd the truck dyno'd at 313 hp. The second time I had added a good bit more power and was going 1 1/2 seconds faster in the 1/4 (and about 8 mph) and it dyno'd at 309 hp. That was on the same model dyno at two different locations - which is accurate? Not to mention the arguments we've had online about how much hp someone is making and whether dyno charts are faked or not, etc. Sounds like a hornets nest to me.

2. Making hp is not just a matter of bolting stuff on. The same modifications made on two different trucks will not have the same results. Tuning comes into play not to mention differences on individual trucks, drivetrains, etc.

3. How do you make the information accessible? Say the database grows to include 2,000 trucks - how do you search through that information for the combination your looking for?

Your thoughts?
