I am about to upgrade to a 5" aluminized exhaust system. What are the advantages/dissadvantages of using one brand over another ie, MBRP, Diamond Eye, Magnaflow, or even some cheap no name brand off E-Bay. Prices vary but can anyone out there share why one in particular is better than another, or even tell me if you like the brand you are currently running? thanks Marco

Friend/mechanic just told me he has installed a few MBRPs and they are a nice looking nice fitting kit. he likes the 1 pc. rear section. I just finially got around to installing my budjet 5" kit I got off of ebay a year or so ago and it fits great. Not one problem installing it myself, only took about 1 hour start to fininsh, all hangers fit fine...

diffs will be in materials : galv/304/409/ect. also fit and function. do they use u-clamps or bands? guage of pipe 14/16/18? tips included? muffler ? DOM? side/rear/duals/stacks? all common factors.

If your in NC i would like for you to come by and check out a few kits. There is always a few customer's trucks here you could hear and see for your self.

I have a 5"MBRP, it is an aluminized system, fit and sound is very good, no problems other than a slight drone over 75mph which then increases with speed. Does not bother me.

After seeing the SS Diamond Eye system that DPP is offering, I would have chosen it, but mine was already installed. I would rather have a SS system.

I appreciate all of your comments. I like to overdo things a bit, had to talk myself out of a bully dog 6" kit i saw searching on web, 700 bucks and more than i need but how great would that be, so a drone wont matter since I'll run a straight pipe single exit behind the rear wheel. Kit i looked at included hangers, straight pipe, muffler, and no tip. Assume its just galvi not sure i'll look into it for the "aluminized" characteristics. SS vs aluminum is nice but living in CA I'm not worried about it rusting out. OPoole thanks for the links I liked them. wish I was in NC and could come by. Be better out there as well wouldn't have to hear all the cryin from the Ca tree hugging libies about my black smoke and loud truck

I got the same looks when I drove to San Diego and LA a few years back, guess they just saw the MO license plate and figured I would leave eventually:-laf
