Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Air Bag Dash Warning Light !?

Lately I seem to be getting the "Air Bag" warning light that pops up on the dash gauge cluster. At first it seemed to come and go and I thought it might be a loose connection or a somthing. Then it just lit up and did not go away. I then turned off the passenger side air bag and it took the light away. What would be causeing this, bas sensor or somthing like that? Look at my truck for sig and currently have 60,200 miles on it. Thanks for the help, Jed.
