Flame suit on... .

This should be good. The "rumor" has it that any oiled air filter (ie, K&N, etc) voids your warranty. I haven't checked into this, just the word on the street. As for a good air filter, you are going to get a million answers. I have had good luck with Tymar, but I am sure others will chime in with more...

Shortly after getting my 05, I put a Airraid dropin filter in.

Iv had no probs with warrenty issues.

After about 8000 miles, I pulled the filter to clean it.

The prefilter gauze or whatever it was been sucked up into the pleats.

There is a pic of the filter in my gallery.

Needless to say, I scarped it and got a Amsoil dropin.

Im very pleased with the fliter.

I have run the True Flow for a while now and have experienced zero problems. Oil tests are coming back in good shape (Silicon came in at an 8 on my Blackstone oil analysis). It is a very quiet intake (you can barely hear more turbo whine) and it was pretty inexpensive (for me at least... I have seen some high prices on them though).

You may want to look at the AFE Pro-Guard-7 filters. It's an oil filter but, has 2 more pleats than most of the other oil type filters. It breathes well (not quite as good as the 5 pleat filters) but, is quite efficient at keeping the air clean. My used oil analysis's have had silicon (dirt) readings in the 5 range, using the PG-7. That's what you would expect to see with a stock, paper element filter. I've been extending my oil drain intervals, also. The last was 9626 miles on Chevron Delo 400, 15X40, CI-4+. I, also live in the desert SW with a lot of dust in the air (that's why our sunsets are so beautiful).

The AFE PG-7 is the only filter that Geno's Garage will sell because it works as well as a stock filter, at filtering, yet moves more air.

If I had to do it over, again, I'd, seriously, look at Performance Systems Mfg. 's (Performance Systems Manufacturing, LLC) (page 158 of TDR Issue 56) system along with a drop-in AFE PG-7 filter. Just noticed that article is for second generation trucks but, the website will get you the information needed, if you are interested.

I know you are asking about Trueflow, do not know about them.

If you just want to upgrade your filter, AFE makes a nice drop in. If you want to upgrade your whole system, AFE MegaCannon II, this is about as nice as they come. I would rather have it, than the AEM Workhorse that I am currently using.

I've had the true flow kit on for 18k miles..... no complaints... . it's a good filter in my opinion... . bit more turbo whistle and definately flows more air... . just added the psm cold air intake this weekend... . and cleaned the filter..... 0 residue of any kind in the intake tube.....

Not sure about warranty concerns, but if they're going to give you a hard time about an air filter, your screwed anyhow.....

I use oiled foam filters on all of my dirtbikes... . if the filtration's good enough for a 100% offroad vehicle, it's gotta be good for a street vehicle... .

I have used:

TrueFlow & S&B drop in filters, and I prefer the S&B. The True Flow has a flat seal around mating surface with the upper air lid. Mine did not seal correctly, allowing unfiltered air to get through. I had dust in the intake track, and was PO'd. The S&B seals way better, and has not let "ANY" dust small enough to visibly see get through and collect inside the intake tubing. I do like the TrueFlow, but the seal issue needs to be fixed. They should thicken the edge mating surface gasket. Owners of TrueFlow, please chime in, I know several of you are happy with the airfilter, but have you inspected the gasket seal closely?

Cool Blue Hose, PSM air intake
Plus a good aftermarket filter that meets DC specs. This works really well with cold air and taking out all the twisted tubes to the turbo from the factory air box. Look at the PSM system, less expensive and easy to do.

Check out AFE web site.

AFE MegaCannon II, With AFE Pro-Guard-7 filter,

This is about as nice as they come.

I been running one for years with out any problems.

Ditto! That is why I have one. Speaking of dirt bike filters, there is a new filter oil and cleaner called no toil. It works great! You just have to clean your filter with a good solvent(gas) and then clean the petro out of it and then use the no toil filter oil. I have got all of my bikes, quads and cars switched over. I have cleaned a few bike filters and the stuff works great. About a 1/4 cup of cleaner in some water and 10-15 seconds. Clean as a whistle. And it is bio degradable so it can go down the drain.

As twice previously mentioned - Geno's only sells the AFE. I would read their catalog and see why that is then make up your own mind. Any of the aftermarket air systems will give you increased turbo whine. That is music to my ears...

The family has 8 bikes and all of them have Uni Air Filters... . i've heard good things about no toil, so might give them a try as the bikes get replaced.

Never tried the filter in question. I've had my AFE SuperStock IRC Proguard 7 filter for about three weeks. With new paper filter I could easily move the filter minder. Not so with the AFE. Previously I did the stock airbox mod similar to PSMbuick.
