Air Horn Location?

I just got another toy for my pride and joy!
I have the Hadley air horn setup. It comes with compressor and tank also. Looking under the hood I cant even find a spot to put any of it. So if any of you fellow members have air horns I would greatly appreciate your knowledge on this subject. I hooked them up to a my air compressor in the garage and they sound great. Next time someone pulls out in front of me they are going to be in for a rude awakening when I blow them air horns! #ad

I mounted my Hadley's cross ways, just behind the air dam (I used a spacer on the bolt to give them just a little slope, for water drainage). The tank and the pump are mounted back on the passengers side. I bolted the pump to the brace that comes off of the frame (didn't have to drill the frame to mount it). I ran as much of the wiring and hoses as I could through the frame rails. It was a lot of work but it looks very clean. If you have the factory alarm system you will need to either disable the horn honk on arming (unless you like to scare the sh. . out of people in parking lots. It's also very loud in your garage too). Or put in a relay which will only power the airhorns when the ignition switch is on. I have had mine for a couple of months and love em. They will definitely get peoples attention. #ad

Hey Rick and Outlaw, I wanted to get some horns but didn't know which ones to get. I want some first hand knowledge. Which one do each of you have, where did you get them and how much... ? Living in LA, I need all the help I can get. Thanks guys,

I have the Hadley 'Bully' horns. You can get them at Camping World or J C Whitney and probably others. I had a gift certificate from Camping World so that's where mine came from. They sell them for $249 unless they are on sale. They also sell the Hadley 'Ambassador', which is much larger and a $100 more. Hope this helps.

I have the same ones as Rick G. and they are a real nice setup. They are on sale in the new JC. Whitney catalog. They are considerably loud and you will get attention. I recomend this setup to anyone who is going to get airhorns!

I mounted mine on top of the alternator. They have a seperate platform which is bolted to the alt. housing. I did not have to drill addtional holes. The air horns I used were Grover # 1601. The pump and air tank are in the back bed undercover. I am using an air suspension pump from a GM something. Cost $25 from a recycler. I have heard the $200 pumps work fine for a while but then wear out. I rebuilt this suspension pump with new seals and Amsoil for lubrication. I had horns mounted low on my last truck but with the amount of salt they use on the highways out here they had an early death. It is a harsh environment the after market products are being expossed to. My 2 bits. Over .
