Data (facts) are good and all on these kind of discussions but there is something to be said for "seat of the pants" experiences. It's not to be completely ignored and can actually be shown to hold up after further investigation/research is done. I flew helicopters for a living for 30 yrs and with everything identical between two different machines (as far as humanly possible) there can be significant differences in performance that can only be 'felt' or experienced vicariously and force you to look at other issues that don't lend themselves to easy measurement.

I've had one of Doug's earliest hoods and had opportunities to switch back and forth between stock and my 'seat of the pants' told me that there is a significant improvement from stock that was better than the Scotty addon that was out at the time. Between that and the looks, for me, that was all I could ask for. Plus Doug was one of the best vendors I've ever had the privilege to spend money on... . and shake the hand of.
