Looking under my 15 DRW while greasing driveline I noticed moisture behind the pan on trans support area. Thinking my pan was leaking I looked closer and it was dry at the back but right in that area the trans splits in half with moisture showing on the passenger side.

Spoke to service guy showing pics he had his parts guy look up to see if a gasket or sealant was used. Shows a gasket. He ordered it and will let me know when it’s in and will do the repair under Zero Deductible MaxCare. Their very experienced trans guy will be doing the work.

PTO area is moist also.

Couple years ago there was a leak between trans and transfer case. Tech said he would replace both seals. They are dry now but I am wondering did the trans need to be split where my leak is to do the output seal?

I have seepage in the same area. it from a drip on the edge of PTO cover after a while. I'm keeping a close eye on it. I did verity the PTO cover bolts were tight. No real source evident on mine.

The PTO leak looks to be separate from the case leak. I don't drive the truck in the Summer as I use my 01 instead so it's going in when they have time.

My visual inspection tells me it's leaking at that location.

So aft of the rear pan seal there is a gasket in the case? I guess a transmission to output shaft adapter that allows the rear of the transmission to be adapted to any output shaft arrangement. I just looked at my PTO cover and it appears to only be moist and coated in wet dust. Put a lot of miles on since April, so, not unexpected.

It’s in getting the trans case split resealed along with PTO cover.

Had them check front end they said drag link was bad. They will be replacing it.

sure glad I bought the 7 year 100k ZERO deductible MaxCare!!! I believe it has paid for its self.

I have the 8y/125k max care, bought in Dec for ~2600 also but I have a $200 deductible... but if I need to do something big it'll totally be worth it. I weighed the options but I think it was around 4k for the 0 deductible and I hope not to have it in the shop 8 times for big repairs... but if so I'll be even money

I was told that 12" display is 11k to replace,, and I am sure the active headlamps are not cheap. enough electrical stuff to justify it especially considering how good the elec system was on my 04:rolleyes:

What a bargain, everyone should buy that. I would for sure.

It’s like any other insurance it’s great of you need it . If I make it to March my truck will be 8 years old , and if don’t spend anymore on repairs , I will be money ahead . I chose NOT to buy the extended warranty. I’ll see if my gamble will pay off . :D

Mine is the 8yrs 125000. Max Care. It cost$3100. $100 deductible
If I never use it through the life of the term they will refund the cost of the max care.

I paid $2450 for 8yrs 120K $100 deducible in Sept 2015. Sold the truck this spring and got $719.75 back from Max Care.

So if I got this right ,say you only spent $500 on repairs during the warranty , so when the warranty is up it cost you $2600 to get $500 in coverage. I am assuming like you said its refunded only if you have not used it.

Every time I got a loaner or rental car while the truck was in for a recall, Max Care covered the rental. Therefore, I used my Max Care and got a pro-rated refund when I sold the truck.
