Lawdog,

That,s gonna be a sweet rig.

RVn... . ,

I,ve got a buddy over in your neck of the woods looks like he could stand in for one of the guys in ZZ Top, and drives a long bed club cab thats two tone blue and silver, about he same model as yours. Maybe one saturday this winter, when it's too cold to do anything else, a bunch of us could meet someplace like The Breakfast House.

Fireman, that sounds good to me . All my buddys own the other brand truck. I don't have any one to talk to about a real truck. It kinda strange to me Ford owners don't seem to take pride in their truck's like CD people do. They just look at me when I mention Boost or EGT. That would be great if we could all get together some sat. Just send me e mail

Hey guys. Glad to see a little stirring goin' on in Alabama. If everyone decides to get together, keep me in the loop. I'll see if I can make it.

Yeah boys, I am a bit excited about the prospect of owning a boy dog truck like the one I ordered, even if it does have all kinds of fancy interior acouterments. It is unfortunate I have to wait so long to get it, but it is what it is and maybe it will give Dodge time to excise any demons they discover in the new HD's. Before they build my truck they will send me some paperwork from Dodge to confirm the exact specifications/options, etc. At that time I can make any changes I want before the construction begins. I was really thinking about swapping to the HO and the 48RE if they have it then as advertised, but a part of me is kind of nervous about getting the 48RE when it is brand new, six months old when mine will be built... Some folks say avoid the 48RE and get the regular CTD and 47RE and upgrade the transmission and bomb the engine, but then you have a warranty issue... I got a big T-18 truck transmission in my Jeep and love it, but I am pretty set on an auto in the big truck... What do you guys think, 47RE or 48RE??

As for the, Ford people who don't know about EGT and Boost, some people just aren't car and truck folks and don't care about what they drive, they just drive. Seems strange to me, I love things with wheels. Speaking of that any of you guys got Jeeps, of the CJ or old pre-1983-Cherokee variety? I got a real pretty beast machine of a CJ-7... I will look you guys when I am in town... some time in the future... :p

Lawdog,

I'd be tempted to get te 48 if I were to get an auto. I tow heavy, therefore I decided no more autos for me. Let us know when you maybe in town, maybe we could get together.

Short Notice

Is any body going to be off the Friday after Thanksgiving ? We could get together for breakfast while the women folk are out shopping.

Fireman

I don't know of too many places in town, so I would suggest The Breakfast House between Foultondale and Gardendale. It should be conveniant for you guys and I know how to get there, I'm guessing that it will be open. I'll be getting off work at 7:00' therefore I can't make it before 8:00. How does that sound ? Too late ? Too early ? Don't like the food ? Suggestions ?

Allrightythen !

Ronco,

That's great. I PMed 24vcummins this morning and e-mailed Paul Somers in Northport, but haven't heard from them. You probably know a short cut to hwy 31 in Gardendale so I won't try to give you specific directions. The Breakfast House is on 31 on the south side of Gardendale (going toward Fultondale) if you need better directions you might have to ask RVnwithRAM as that is his neck of the woods.

Fireman

PS Happy Thanksgiving all !

I also hope breakfast went well. Hope plans are to do it again. I will try to make it. My mother; 92 years old; doesn't live far from there. She lives just off 31 in Gardendale. I'm retired so what day usually doesn't matter.

PS: Mymother-in-law; 90; lives on Moody Pkw just past new Moody high school.

Breakfast

Hi Guys,

We all missed you being with us at The Breakfast House Friday. We had a good time talking and showing off our trucks and the breakfast and fellowship was good. Fireman made us all envious showing off his new truck. Sure was a good looking truck.

They didn't even seem to mind hanging out with an old man(old men loves their cummins too) Every one seemed to enjoy themselves and we all agreed to try it again after the holidays. Hope there will be more next time.

Next meeting

I concur, even though there were only three of us, the first meeting was quiet enjoyable. Don't be fooled by Arlon being "envious", he has a '95 that looks like it just rolled off the line. We talked about meeting again at the same place after New Year. In order to give everyone the opportunity to attend next time, I'll toss out a date and we'll see how it works for everyone. At the moment Jan 11 and 25 looks like the only open dates I have. How 'bout ya'll, We had a dispairity of 24 valvers Fri.

Fireman

PS, we might even consider a group outing in the spring, camping maybe ?

Maybe some of Ya'll southern Alabama folk's would like to meet up with some north western Florida folk's one day. Most of south Florida thinks the panhandle belongs to Alabama anyway .

If Ya'll decide to get together one day , jump on the Florida board and post when and where and maybe we all can meet. Thomas

Thomas,

We're really in North Central AL (within 50 mi of B'ham), but next time we're down that way we'll give you a shout. I was in Pensacola just a couple of mo. ago, and Paul Somers just got back. Casey Balvert from Windsor, Ont. is planning a trip to Gulf Shores in the spring, and I am planning on going down for at least a weekend to see him, so we'll keep you in mind. Yes, I know that ya'll would like to be part of AL, and we would like for you to be also. Of course they would have to rename the Florabama, and the whole town of Florala :D Oh Well !

Fireman

Fireman,

Did I see you at Wesley's this weekend? I thought so! Anyway, a camping trip sounds cool. I like to stay a little close by till I get used to towing.

Ronco:-laf

Ron,

That's what I had in mind. Just a weekend, somewhere near by like Tannehill or Guntersville or something like that. We could discuss it next time we meet and see what everyone else thinks. Hopefully I will have a hitch by this spring:rolleyes:. I think my wife was disapointed when I came home and hadn't been murdered Friday. I imagine Arlons wife was suprised too:-laf :-laf :-laf

Fireman

Fireman,

So... ... ... ... . , does your wife think I should be someone to stay away from? Just what are you implying? :(
