I assume you're referring to the OEM theft-deterrent system and not an overlaid system such as a Lojack prevent. A first thing to check is the battery in the remote (really) since a nearly exhausted battery might erroneously set the system rather than disarm it (I've seen this alot). Much like when your calculator or watch become hard to read - battery time!! I would do this beforemoving on to troubleshooting the host system itself.
