2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission alt fog light bulb?

Is there a bulb swap we can do on the fog lights to give a narrow beam? I don't ever use fog lights, but could use some high-speed or off-road brights.

Do a Hella upgrade as the foglamp lens covers on our rigs are plastic. any other bulb will distort the lens.

W1ADE- the reflector gives the pattern of the light, not the bulb- from what I've seen the change-out Tim suggests is excellent, and is do-able!

been there, done that. Pep boys sells higher power bulbs for them. PS: within a week it will melt a nice brown spot in the plastic lense.



then I got smart and switched to CATZ lights. Man what a difference. Now I notice I prefer to run with my low beems because thats when the fogs work. I guess I could wire the relay so fogs stay on, but never worried about it much.



Of course you need to be crafty with tools to make mounts for them. I ended up using the stock mounts. Sure if you search on about a year or so ago for Catz lights, you will see how others mounted theres.

Those look pretty good, but I wasn't looking to spend any real money.



What I used to have were spotlights. Same bulb/housing as the A-pillar mounted swivel-type (like on patrol cars). Those pups would light up 2 miles of road--er woods.



I'll wait until I get all my go-fast parts on.

On a similar line, what does one use for fog/aux driving lites for the 98. 5 model 2500 with the auto transmission? There are the holes in the bumper, but not much room to mount anything due to the transmission cooler being real close. I'd rather find something that would "fit" like, and look factory. Haven't had much luck so far, and I really don't want to cobble something up. Especially since I just had to replace the whole darned bumper that some hit and run type got me for $$$$$$
