I just recently purchased my second 02 Dodge 2500. On my other CTD's I've always had pillar mounted gauges. On the 04 I had, I felt the pillar mount was very intrusive.

Here's my question, anyone ever build/fab a gauge mount to go where the ashtray is? My ashtray is broken already. My brother and I were thinking that maybe a plate could be fabbed to mount two gauges vertically where my ashtray used to be. Any thoughts? Any pics of similar solutions?

Thanks,

Ian

I fabricated a gauge panel using ABS plastic. I got some nice stuff with a crinkle finish on the display side. Pipe glue is used to assemble the parts. Easy stuff to work with so you can make something to put anywhere you want. You can look at what I did for three of my gauges in my Reader's Rigs gallery. That might give you some ideas.

Didn't use the ashtray yet, but did remodel the drink holder. Gutted the inside leaving the latch and hinges along with the mounting frame. Installed gauges (EGT, Fuel, Boost, transmission Temp and Rearend Temp) in outstide of holder. Remounted it to hang straight down instead of sloped under the dash. Now I can open it to work on gauges and it matches the dash panels. Don't have pics yet, still in the finishing stages.

i've got a wildcat diesel dash gauge cluster ...

it's molded for the dash with no holes ... you can put up to 4 gauges or combinations of gauges ... switches ... warning lights ... etc

wildcat is out of business but i read on one of these boards that scotty of scotty air intakes may still have some ...

do a search and post your results whatever they may be ...
