Kirwin...

I have heard that Cooper is making the 235-85R-17 now, but I am not sure what tread patterns are available.

This played a factor in me waiting for a 3rd gen. Very few manufactures for DRW 17" tires and I have never had goodluck with goodyears  . Nothing but great luck with the Coopers since 1992. :)

i guess this is going to be a stupid question.....

what do you mean when you say the 19. 5 tire is a write-off?

i know... stupid question. :)

I use my truck as a company truck, ie, tax write-off for things like upgrades to 19. 5's;)

19.5s with 3.73 ratio and towing heavy

I see that Cooer's website does indeed have 235-80-R17 in both the H/T and the S/T tread pattern.

Those of you that spent the $ and got the 19. 5s are you still able to pull in 6th gear? What is your RPM at 60 MPH? How about 5th gear at 60 MPH? I am concerned that I just wont be turning enough RPMs to pull satisfactorily with the 19. 5s and the 3. 73 ratio. Does anyone have enough miles on and 3rd gen truck to wear out a set of 19. 5s to estimated the usable miliage lifetime of the 19. 5s? Thanks Ken Irwin
