Can i use this alternator in place of the one that came off the truck.

It may be worth it to refurb the old OEM unit.

Does it mount the same?
Same or Similar amperage?

If the pulley height isn't identical you'll ruin the belt in short order. If pulley diameter is different it will put more or less tension on the belt.

Depending on what is wrong with yours I'd opt to rebuild it. Everything should still be available for them.

I was going to try and rebuild my old one but i wanted to get a new one ao i had time to play with the old one my luck rebuilding alternators is not good

Pro rebuild is the way to go as MOST of the so called "NEW" units are Communist Chinese Made.

Turns out i need the older style alternator. This truxk was built in march of 1998 so i guess thats why

Dont find much that isn’t. We’re the communist untied states so id just as soon give to a chinamen as a liberal union worker that supports nancy pelosi and keep a little money in my wallet as put it in his

I had a new china alternator on mine for a little while but it was bleeding ac voltage into the electrical system. I replaced it with a OEM Denso 210-0500 reman unit I bought from amazon, all is good now.

I installed a Nations 180 amp alternator some years back.
Factory size pulley, hairpin windings, 12 diodes.
Works great and generates clean voltage.
