As I look around the site I see that most everyone has done some kind of Chip for power. Im not knocking it I was just wondering if Im the only one that is happy with the 325/600 that cummins gave me. :)and then I post on the wrong section

I was happy with the stock power. Then things went on sale. Even with stock power I recommend gauges. Also, might get a better response if you post this in the 3rd Gen forum.

Oh! For a moment there, I thought you were gloating! Cackling with glee! But then you realized you'd mis-filed your post. Dash it all! Perhaps we can turn this thread into a 2nd-gen v. 3rd-gen war anyway? :D

If I got 325/600 outta my 12V, I'd be lookin' to see who's truck I stole. 180HP to the ground has suited me just fine.

I felt the same way as you for the longest time about my 2gen. Stock power was fine for hauling firewood and even my Jeep once or twice. But then I bought my 5er. Stock power was marginal for hauling it. I couldn't really keep up with traffic while pulling hills and it was tough going all around. I didn't get a bigger trailer than I should have, but I was right at the truck's limits. Working the engine a bit helped tremendously and made for a much more pleasurable experience. Now we can pull the thing cross country without the truck skipping a beat. We can keep up with traffic, no matter what the speed limit is. Well worth the effort.

Maybe you need to drive one w/400 to the ground. :D BTW, you need tires. :-laf

What? How!?! I know you gotta test, but the truck ain't got enough power to do burnouts! Oh, wait. The tires are kinda wore, aren't they? :) :)

Maybe with the new bushings the fronts'll wear nicer. I'll have to find a reasonable set of used 16s until I can afford a new set of 19. 5s.

Besides, this Hemi Magnum has a lot more power than I need or want. But it ain't quick enough; it needs a turbo. And DOT slicks. :D

Umm, yeah, you're driving around with steel belts showing in at least one of the rear tires. I didn't even look at the other side.

Is the Magnum even going to have rear tires on it when I get it back?:-laf

I'm running a Smarty on sw#1,approx. 30+ hp and 60# tq. It enables my truck to carry 2000# around all the time and accelerate like a stocker. That's all I use it for. Upon removal of Marco's invention the vehicle reverts to a dog with my load.

I was "chipped" for a long time but after transmission and a rear diff failure the chip is gone, removed, outta there. I cannot say for sure that the extra power was the cause but I think it may have contributed to the failures. One gets used to the power and you really don't realize how much extra there is until it is gone. The engine oil is staying a lot cleaner now as well. I have towed many miles, a lot at nearly rated load. I feel that this is where the damage will occur. I really miss the extra ponies especially when towing but for now $$$$ and gray hair prevail. I am stock.

Have no plans to uprate my 06... . IMHO, I believe that I could hurt the truck with the engine in stock form... . so why bother.

I DID purchase a 94 model that i'm going to play with. The eventual plans are to have atleast 800hp. at the rear wheels on fuel only and be able to tow without hurting it.

It all comes down to that power bug. Some are immune to it's bite, and some of us can't scratch that itch enough. Randy:-laf:-laf

I'm very happy with my stock 2006. Even when towing in the mountains of the west I still can pull the speed limit easily . My belief on traffic is that there is always somebody on the road that has to be able to be in front of everybody else no matter what .
