I switched to Ams-oil bypass (BMK15ea) at 61k miles. How often would you recommend sending in an oil sample and how often should I change the filters (one or both).

If you are going to do sampling correctly you need to pull a sample after the first thousand miles so you can get a base line started. then sample every 5k-7500k miles to keep up on what is happening in the engine and with oil. It is also a good way to see trends of things that could happen in the future. I run the Amsoil Tigaurd system with the dual remote bypass system and sample every 5k miles and change the flow full filter only then also. I just changed my oil and both filters for the first time due to having had the engine open for some mods and had 30k on the oil and samples were still good. So the possibility of never having to change oil ever is good. Because I end up adding 1. 5qts every 5k miles due to filter change and sampling so over time all the oil gets changed out in cycle. I have about 10k on this oil and it is just starting to get dark. I don't baby it either.
