Amsoil antifreeze users: Happy?

Steve has just informed me I am grossly overdue for a change. Hey it's still green!

Has anyone been using the Amsoil anti freeze?

I thought it was expensive until I priced the Cummins brand! I have always bought antifreeze on sale from Kmart, this is the first time I have something worth putting good stuff in.
Any info would be appreciated!

SORTA hard to provide meaningful comments about antifreeze - it either protects your engine, or it doesn't! Most major brands, as long as they meet individual manufacturer's specs, and used according to instructions and percentages for a users specific climate, SHOULD do a totally satisfactory job... Contributing factors surrounding ANY antifreeze, is the additional steps of thorough cooling system cleaning, and the potential for contamination of the coolent due to various gasket leaks and circumstances completely independent of the specific brand of antifreeze itself.

All THAT being said, what IS a reasonable expectation for "performance" of ANY brand of antifreeze - and does spending extra money for the Cummins (or any other) brand REALLY deliver anything more than another top brand at considerably less cost would?

I've heard rumors about "low silicate" or "low sodium" antifreezes recommended in diesels, but few details as they relate to the Cummins B5. 9 - any comments?

After looking over all the data on the Amsoil (propylene glycol) antifreeze/coolant and comparing it to other brands I decided to purchase it for my Ram. HOWEVER, I haven't actually added it yet. OOPS! #ad

I can answer your question in regards to the Amsoil (propylene glycol) antifreeze/coolant as too its longivity/protection qualities.

I have had it in my truck for nearly 5 years, and it is still testing very good, and is clear when looking at it in a glass container. Since you are a DJ with AMsoil, you can purchase it at a very good price as well. In my opinion, it is worth the price!

when you say it is tesing fine are you refering to the additive package and the coolant's ability to lubricate and protect the cooling system from rust, corrosion, etc? Seems these important functions of coolants diminish before the freeze/boil protection does.

The best way I have found to check anti-freeze is use a PH tester and anything 1. 5 from neutral(7) get changed.
