The Iron they are made of is good thick hit with a wire wheel and will clean right up, as for the bushings they are the same as the springs when I redid my front end I put poly bushings from energy suspension, they have a kit that comes with all the spring and hanger bushings.

Thanks for the info RWherley.. I'll look them up.. except for surface rust they look solid.. I'll get the bushings..

Well the project is coming along, not as quickly as I would like... But the frame is painted..:) Did find one bad spot,:( but have a good friend who is a welder who is going to get that squared away. Then it's on to putting it back together!!

Ok, so I've got the frame fixed, and when the rain stops I will get the brake line and wiring on. 2 Question?? The brakes on my D350 have never really seemed that great, and I've always assumed it was because with the Cummins and vacuum pump v/s gas engine vacuum. While I'm sitting at a stop light I can feel the brake pedal bleeding down, and there are no hydraulic leaks to be found. 1. Is this a normal diesel truck side affect? 21. Is there a way to improve this? Maybe some kind of air assist?? I guess that was actually 3 questions! :D Again I am just preserving my Dad's truck and don't really tow a lot of heavy loads, but if and when I need to I want to be able to stop!! And yes I will be installing an electronic brake module for the trailer brakes.

I removed the ABS valve from my truck and I think it helped fix that issue, I also got a hydro booster off of a 99 truck that im going to install ill post pic of it when I get it done.

Thanks Ray, I'll look into the ABS.. Look forward to hearing of the 99 booster experiment.

Well this project is getting thrown on the back burner!!:mad: I have been having some issues with my shoulder and arm, looking like I'm getting ready for some rebuilding myself.. See the surgeon on June 4th... To be continued...:{

OK! 1 1/2 weeks after a neck fusion. I'm itching to get back at it.. Have to go slow and easy for the next 5-6 weeks. But I am going to get started on the light stuff, I'm gonna start stripping down the ole two wheel drive. Gonna have some stuff for sale if anyone needs some two wheel drive Auto trans.. I'll put an ad up in the classifieds shortly. Hopefully I'll have some new pics to post in the next month or so.

Ok so, now I'm ready to get back at it.. It will be slow moving but I can't wait to get this truck rolling again.. Oo.

Okay, Now I'm seriously getting back at this thing. I have come across a deal on a set of 17" wheels and tires off of a 2007 Dodge 3500 dually. I now have the 16" coined wheels, and I am wondering if there will be issue with these on my 92 dually?? Also I have looked around a little, the lug nuts from my coined wheels I don't believe are going to work.. Ideas?? Suggestions??

If you use the 17" wheels, you'll have to drill the stud holes in the wheels to accept the 5/8" studs, then you could possibly use some swiveling flange (washered) lug nuts for a 10-12k trailer application, but I don't know if they will accept the Dodge hubcap..... http://www.theoempartsstore.com/product.php?productid=17273

I'd also check to make sure there is no problems with the wheel against the rear drum and clearance against the springs... shouldn't be, but I'd check, regardless.

The other issues you might have is the coined 1st gen wheels are stud centered, while all 2nd gen and newer wheels are hub centered so there is a small chance that they wont center right and could cause vibrations

Thanks Ray, I'll be sure to see how that looks when I try them..
