It usually happens with us when we're towing our 13,500 lb 36' 5th wheel - the full rig weighs 21,180 lbs GCW (21,500 lbs GCWR). Naturally, I try to leave a reasonable safety margin between us and the car ahead, the laws of physics and braking distances being what they are. Unfortunately, there are too many ***holes on the roads who have no concept of the dynamics of trailer towing, and they'll dive bomb into my safety space and then jam on their brakes to make a right turn - in a Ford Escort in one case.
So, here I am standing on the brakes trying to keep our 10. 5+ ton rig from going right over their little ****box just so they can whip into the drive-in at McDonalds for an Egg McMuffin and an OJ.
