GWoody, I would say get a TST and stack em, I run mine on the 60-90 hp settings with the TST on 5/5 and the EZ on one and when I need some extra smoke kick it up to 3! My truck runs awesome now to say the least! I am very happy with it.

As for the cruise control, I just got back from a trip to southern Idaho and used my CC for 3/4 of the trip, no surging and very easy to control. I also had a run in with a new LBZ that was blowing some smoke up one of the grades but it was a definate run away when we hit the top at... . FAST!

I also netted an all time best of 20. 03 mpg (overhead said 19. 7) at 75 MPH and around 24-2500 RPM's!!! (Smarty #1, TST 5/5, EZ1). Gotta love the 4. 10's for interstates. My best other than that was 19. 3 @ 65-70 (TST 7/7 EZ1) trying to see what my truck could do in fuel mileage.

No contest at all (which there shouldnt be)

As for the EFI live I checked with them a while ago about doing something for us and they said that the hemi's would get it before us IF we get it at all?!

I have been keeping up with the smarty threads since the beginning. While I like the power, throttle responce, and smoke. The programming I feel was not beta tested enough. Some of use are having individual issues while some are having widespread issues. I have had my smarty sitting for the last month in my house since I have no second gear on my transmission while using the programmer, stock its fine???????? go figure. In the mean time I have purchased other boxes to solve my power needs :D . Don't get me wrong, I like the smarty but to have a 700 dollar programmer sitting for a month is not what I was hoping for. At least I know I am not the only one having problems with it. As it is I am awaiting news from Marco on the upcomming changes and what they will include.

Richard

And Many of us have had NO ISSUES ;)

I'm already stacked with the tst, ez, silver bullet turbo, air dog. My truck runs best on smarty8 & tst 2/2, ez 2, but I don't have the adjustable timimg. I tried 9 on smarty and tried turning the tst up a little, anything over 1/1 is not a pretty sound, kinda like a 55 gal barrel with 20 lbs of rocks in it rolling down a hill, I don't mind a little timing rattle but this was ugly.

That's exactly what happens to me only it rattles like that with all of the Smarty programs. Even the ones that have stock timing. Even with the TST on 0/0. Somethings not right. I've asked Marco and Bob directly on multiple web-sites about my timing issue and they've been ignored. A new down load for tq managemnt doesn't do me any good. I wanna hear from the maker why it's not working on my SO. Marco... Bob... . any ideas. ?????????

it rattles like that with all of the Smarty programs.

driverno8,

First of all, I appologize for your questions that remained without answer.

These new updates have taken their toll upon me. I've been working on them for several weeks full time, over time and then some. I simply did not have the time to answer questions. Sorry... .

Hmmmm... timing rattle on ALL programs? Also the ones without increased timing? Only at idle or all engine speeds? Yours is a 04 / AT 250Hp engine?

Please, help me understand.

Marco

SMARTY "Wild" Tq Mgt Program??

Marco,

How close is the "Wild" Tq Mgt Program to being ready? Will you in the future have "On dash adjustability"??

I love the product.

Tks.

Marco - Thanks for the response. Yes. I have an '04 SO 235hp w/an Auto. 90hp injectors and a cam. Also TST on 0/0. It rattles in all programs. The programs that don't ad timing don't rattle as much but it's still there enough to it just doesn't sound right. I can't ad any timing to it all either with the TST or with loading a program that has timing. If I'm in park and rev the motor it rattles at the higher rpms. Something else. The shifting. I know some guys with 04. 5 are missing 2nd gear, yet mine shifts fine. Any thoughts?

Marco-

I get the same thing on my truck, except it is a 2003 HO 305/555. DriverNo8 and I both run 90 HP injectors with a TST. I am wondering that in order to get the same amount of fuel with bigger injectors as compared to stock injectors that the bigger injector stays open less (i. e. , less duration). This would essentially be the same as advancing the injection timing wouldn't it? So hence we get the timing rattle a lot easier than say a truck with smaller injectors?

driverno8,

The 04 SO federal engine is 250Hp the California is 235 Hp. Just trying to understand WHICH software should be in your truck...

Would you please do me a favour?

Read the exact software revision out of your ECM. It's simple, here's how to.

1) Press key # 5 before you plug in Smarty. Keep # 5 pressed while you plug it in. Once something on the display appears release key #5.

2) Wait for the main menu to appear ( 1 = ECM ; 2 = Data read )

Now press key # 1 as if you wanted to update the ECM. You're now on the screen 1 = ECM; 2 ABS. Press key #1. Instead of updating the ECM Smarty will display the software revision number that's in the ECM. Write it down...

It should look something like 15250153AH.

That way I can check the exact software you're using...

JStieger,

What you say sounds very reasonable.

Yet I do not change anything at idle speeds. What makes me wonder even more is that you get timing rattle with softwares that do not add timing.

Back to stock everything is a OK.

One is a So the other is a HO engine. For now I don't see a path...

Hmmmm.....

Let me mumble on it a little while.

Marco

Marco - Yes it's a CA SO 235hp. I live in California, gotta love emissions. I'm going to go check the ECM. I'll get back with your shortly. Thanks again for the responses to my problem. Keep it up.

Hey Marco!!! I tried to download the newest version of level 3 and get a NOT FOUND page. Keep working. :-laf. Beer later

I'll give that SW a VERY close look but I doubt it's anything as simple as a stupid error.

I'll come back.

Marco
