Don't know if this has been noted yet, and I believe it applies to all rams, 1-2-3-4-th gens, because of the location of the water pump, being that it is by its self.

What I found on my 5. 9, been chasing a drip for couple weeks. First thought

that it might be the oil cooler gaskets had started to seep. No leak was determined here. checked any thing that was cooling related on the front right side.

Discovered that the "O" ring on the water pump failed. Being that cold weather has an adverse effect on gaskets and if it will leak-- it will- the "O" ring had deteriated some and rust over time had taken its toll and thus the drip. Not visible because of its position, coolent tracks down through the brackets to the undercarriage and leaves a mess on the ground. This is a compression fit on the square "O" ring and it would be better if it were another . 005" thicker. Just another thing to consider if you have an allusive coolen't leak.
