Mine start out cold at 60f80r at 60 degrees but by 70 degrees outside and going down the road gain about 7 psi average. Should probably lower them to 55 f and 75 r. T

The Firestone HD are starting to show wear at 17.5 k. Will drive about 1 k before winter . I probably will be able to make it thru winter don’t drive much or far in the winter. Next summer should wear them out then new tires for the next winter. Coopers or Michelins

How accurate do you think the in dash tire gauge is? I like it to see if I got a slow leaker when I’m traveling. I used have to get the gauge out what a pain for a older guy

Don't they sit on the same leaf springs either way?

Here is the 3500 auto-level spring setup.

So school me. Other than the self leveling valve, that system appears to be about the same as add on bags. Where/how does the better ride come from?

I wouldn't think the air valve could add and subtract air fast enough, to say....compensate for wash board roads.

If the valve is what makes the factory air so much better, I would think I could add onboard air and a valve to my system and have the exact same ride?

The airbags themselves are pretty much the same as aftermarket add ons, other than being completely automatic aside from NORM/ALT.

The improved ride comes from the main leaves being a softer spring than the standard spring 3500. More travel and less harsh. In NORM only the top two leaves have weight on them.

This is what the 3500 SRW standard springs look like, even thou it says 03-12 in the photo. They have a much higher spring rate than the auto-level leaves.

I would think my coils would be as soft or softer than the auto level springs. The bags did firm up the ride some, but not harsh at all and I am not complaining, just thinking out loud.

The 2500 steel springs are not softer than the 3500 auto-level springs, at least not in my experience.
