Any Boat Specialist?

I have a 1975 Searay with a 302 ford v-8. I have an overheating problem with the motor. The motor seems to run great, smooth with no laboring. So far I have changed the lower unit inpeller, the engine circulation pump,the thermostat, and the temp sending unit. The boat starts up great and will run cool towards the cold side for about 10 minutes and then will jump to the hot side and stay there. I can increase the rpm's and cool the motor down but when I go back to idle, it goes to the hot side. I gues the only thing else would be the the exhuast mainfold being plugged and the exhaust shutoff valves. The timming is close but with the old point system. you can never tell. I am hopping it isn't a head gasket but the engine runs too smooth and the oil is clean.

Anyone out there who can help me I would really appreatiate it.

I think you diagnosed your problem, sounds to me like exhaust manifolds are plugged or you may have a torn exhaust boot.

I bought this boat in your neighborhood, near manteca. it was a mess when when I bought it but brang it back to life. Lots of family hours sking and fishing.
