Competition Any body run bobcat tires?

I ask because I haul/bail used tires on the weekends and come across bobcat tires regularly( 10-16. 5 and 12-16. 5). I have a set of them mounted up to try on my 74 power wagon (not for pulling). I was just wondering if they have ever been tried on a pulling truck? I know most stick to all terrain type tread, but I just wanted to mention this as they are alot like the "pulling" tires that you can buy (which I have a set of also, in 31x15. 50).

Most of the pull rules require DOT tire - so the Bobcat tires would be out.

The tires won't hold together at speed.

I bet they ride like a cadillac on the freeway! I did not realize that DOT tires were required. I doubt they will hold together at any speed at all, I think they even say 10mph max. I know that the set of 35-9-16. 5 tractor tires I used only lasted through 1 40 mph jaunt. I bet the bobcat tires wouldnt fare any better.

Are actual "pulling" tires not allowed then in the pulls since they are not DOT aproved?

Alot of guys here are using Ditch Witch style tires for offroading. You might find a more suitable size and tread in one of those (most i've seen are about 33"X15") although I seriously doubt they are dot approved. One guy is running an Isuzu amigo and a built 355 chevy and whines because he blows the axles constantly. Aside from his stupidity, it does show that they hook well.

actually the 12-16. 5' aint a bad size. The 31x15. 50's are kinda weird. But in all reality, the bogger performs as well as bobcat tires anyway, I wasnt extremely impressed by them.
