I have a 2006 2500 Megacab. 82,000 miles. #2 injector resistance is bad, 1 ohm. Been getting the codes for that injector and unknow voltage for that bank. I pulled the cover and tested the leads to the gasket while disconnected. No issues, no resistance. Injector not connected is 1 ohm the rest are .5 ohm. Clearing codes gets it running again for a bit. I'm not really driving it in this condition.
I have received 1 quote at about $2500 for 1 injector, Tube, high pressure line, Upper/Lower Valve cover gasket (electronic one), grid heater gaskets and valve adjustment. I realize diesels are expensive but prices for parts are at MSRP for this shop. Example: The 2 valve cover gaskets are $800 and $75. Dealer Gasket is $450 to $500. This shop will not do any less that what is quoted for the job to be guaranteed. I researched how to do this, it does not appear too hard but would prefer a professional or someone that has done this since I am towing for a few high schools several hundred miles in March and April and can't afford to be stuck on the side of the road with all their gear.
Would prefer a guru that helps TDR members or decent shops in the Orange County CA.. Westminster, Huntington Beach, Anaheim.
Thank you,
Ramon
